About Positive Discipline Inland Northwest
WHO WE ARE
We are Certified Positive Discipline Instructors and Trainers who educate parents and teachers, who work with children (ages toddler to teen), how to discover positive parenting solutions and teaching strategies through unique experiential activities. In addition, classroom management strategies are taught that help students build community, prepares them for successful living, and increases academic achievement in the classroom.
What is Positive Discipline?
Positive Discipline is a research based program developed by Dr. Jane Nelsen designed to teach young people to become responsible, respectful and resourceful members of their communities. Positive Discipline teaches important social and life skills in a manner that is deeply respectful and encouraging for both children and adults (including parents, teachers, childcare providers, youth workers, and others).
Recent research tells us that children are hardwired from birth to connect with others, and that children who feel a sense of connection to their community, family, and school are less likely to misbehave. To be successful, contributing members of their community, children must learn necessary social and life skills. Positive Discipline is based on the understanding that discipline must be taught, and that discipline teaches.
Positive Discipline parent education classes are taught in 50 countries and across the nation. In addition, Positive Discipline is successfully used as the classroom management model in private, religious, and public schools. A demonstration school program is currently being developed. (Sound Discipline, a non-profit Seattle based organization that teaches Positive Discipline, has Demo School tours available monthly.)

Rebekah Hart
Certified Positive Discipline, Parent Educator
Hello, I am Rebekah, mama to a preschooler and toddler who loves helping other families implement Positive Discipline tools in their homes to create happier, calmer and more connected families by encouraging positive parenting.
When I became a mama, I struggled to find the tools and resources to be the mama that I wanted to be, until I found Positive Discipline. Positive Discipline has changed the dynamics of our home to be one of mutual respect, connectedness and fun for everyone!
